After putting on 100, 450 miles it was time to trade in my ‘04 V olvo S40 and get something new. Picked up this 2019 GMC Canyon 4x4 SLE with the V6 in this beautiful 2019 only (so far) blue color. I hated every minute of my car shopping experience and nothing went well at all! Walked out on three dealers, struggled to get car insurance for a ‘ 19 model year because companies are behind (also those MI prices, damn! ), struggled with title iss ues since my trade in had an out of state title not in my name, struggled to coordinate financing with my out of state bank because the dealership offers were dreadful, oh and my trade in got a nail in the tire pulling in to the dealership driveway ! But I got a solid truck for a good price with pretty much all the options I wanted (i f only it was leather), and now I can tow my T rans A m when it inevitably breaks down.

Heh, know how that is. $800 for freaking PLPD every six months on a ‘96 Dakota that’s worth MAYBE $500.

Congratulations! That’s a great color.

In the next 3 years after I take care of some debt and maybe some stuff with our condo I’m thinking of getting a small(ish) pickup. I really want the Ranger, but the base one is going to be like $4k more than a similar Colorado, and you can still get the Colorado with a manual. If the manual is still around when I’m ready, I think it might win. Otherwise I might be willing to pay more for a Ranger.

I was shopping right when the Colorado/Canyon hit the market, and the 2016 Tacoma was close to rolling out. I got a pretty good deal on the ‘15  Tacoma. Dealers wouldn’t budge of MSRP for the GM trucks, and of course the first ones on the lot were loaded up, mid-40s.
